The Partial Payments feature gives you more flexibility in how you choose to pay vendors. It allows you to divide a single invoice into several payments and use different methods at various stages of the payment.
When you schedule a partial payment, pay business bills will track and display the remaining balance.

How to make partial payments
1- Sign in to your Capital One Business Banking account.
2- Once logged in, you'll see your business accounts displayed. Select the business checking account you want to use.
If you have more than one Capital One Small Business Banking account, you’ll need to log into each account and accept the Terms & Conditions in the same place.
3- Once in the desired business account, select Pay Business Bills from the dashboard.
First time logging in?
- Review the terms of service and privacy policy from the pop-up window.
- Once you have reviewed the terms of service and privacy policy, select the checkbox to accept the terms. To continue, select Get Started.
You have now successfully accepted the new terms and conditions. You can now begin exploring the new pay business bills experience.
3 - In the main screen, select the Bills tab.
4 - Find the bill you want to pay.
5 - Select Pay next to the bill.
6 - Select the edit icon next to the remaining balance.
7 - Enter the amount you'd like to pay. The remaining amount will be displayed beneath.
8 - Select the payment method. Select Continue.
9- You can now proceed with the payment process as usual.
10 - You can track all partial payments just like any other payment in your account.
That’s it. You successfully made a partial payment.
Viewing remaining balances
After making partial payments, you can view the remaining balance on a bill by following these steps:
1 - Go to the Bills tab and locate the desired bill.
2 - In the Amount column, you’ll see the balance left to pay.
3 - Select or hover over the icon to check the original total amount of the bill.
The same action can also be performed from the Payments tab. You can hover over the icon to check the original total amount of the bill.
Note:
- Once the balance due on a bill reaches $0, the bill will be automatically removed from the Bills tab.
- In the Payments tab, partial payments related to the same bill will appear separately, but they share the same invoice number.
With that, you're all set to make partial payments and easily track the remaining balance on your bills.
